Trishul - Our partner NGO

Trishul is a Registered Charitable Organization (Non-Profit) based in Mumbai, working towards building self-sustainable communities through skill development, education, and livelihood programs in urban slums and economically weak rural villages in India. Their core programs focus on Empowering Women through skill development and educating underprivileged children. They of their initiatives include the Trishul Learning Centre, Waste Management Program, Disaster management Program, The Trishul Women Empowerment Program (TWEP).

Svadhina has partnered with Trishul’s Women Empowerment Program (TWEP) to market the eco-friendly, handcrafted products made by Trishul’s TWEP team.

Trishul aims to support economically less-privileged women from rural areas and urban slums, as well as, revive traditional art and handicrafts by training and encouraging budding artisans through their Skill Development Program.

At TWEP, they conduct free skill development workshops on embroidery, painting methods such as Madhubani and Warli, basic stitching, home decors, handcrafted jewellery, crochet, greeting cards etc. All work from crafting the products to packaging is done by the women. The sales proceeds of their products ensure a steady source of income for the women involved.

At TWEP, they also conduct periodic health check-ups; mentoring and counselling sessions, yoga, and similar supportive activities. They also plan to start a daily nutrition program at TWEP and TLC to tackle urban malnutrition: a much-ignored malady.

As Trishul extends the training and support to more and more women, they hope to better the lives of multitudes of families, as they believe empowering a woman equals empowering a family.

Trishul NGO as conducts workshops and Programs on POSH; Disaster Management; Team Building and Entrepreneurship etc. Environment Conservation through Up-cycle, Tree Plantation, Cleaning Forest Trails (Swacha Abhiyan), and Afforestation Projects.

Over the last two decades, they have impacted and helped improve the quality of life for more than 50,000 families in the surrounding areas via several projects like Trishul Women Empowerment Program; Trishul Learning Centre; BMC Dattakbasti Program (hygiene and sanitation, waste management, etc), education, health, and nutrition, disaster management, youth empowerment and environment conservation.
