Story
Gajgamini is an old Sanskrit word for a woman who walks with the slow, graceful confidence of an elephant, and this saree was made for that walk. Her olive body is covered in rows of little maroon elephants, all marching happily in the same direction. Then her pallu changes the mood: deep rust-maroon and black, printed with bold motifs and olive leaves, framed by zigzag borders and one last row of elephants.
She is earthy, grounded and quietly striking. Her pomegranate-dyed colours feel soft and warm, and her light georgette drape makes her easy to carry from a busy workday to a festive evening, with oxidised silver earrings for company.
Description
Gajgamini is an olive hand block printed georgette saree covered in rows of maroon and black elephant motifs. The contrast pallu in deep rust and black features large block-printed motifs with olive leaf details, framed by zigzag borders and a band of elephants. Coloured with natural vegetable dyes including pomegranate, it is lightweight, flowing and skin friendly, perfect for office wear, festive occasions and parties.
